Composition II (Chrome Square)

Influenza/Composition II (Chrome Square) is a stopmotion animation, consisting of 1000s monochrome stickers reflecting the city. The surface destorting its structure, the architectural material itself creating its frame. A sticker project translated into animation. As miniature abstract urban screens, shiny square stickers quietly reflect the city life on their blurry suface. In the mid-1990s the film maker discovered in stickers a simple and cheap means of functioning in public. Under the name 'Influenza' the Rotterdam based Jeroen Jongeleen makes much of his art directly in public space.
