Katja Mater studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 2003 and at ‘The Ateliers’ in 2005. In the summer of 2006 she was artist in residence in Skowhegen school of painting and sculpture’ in Maine USA. Her work is nationally and internationally displayed, for example at the 4th Berlin Biennial for contemporary art, the 12th International Month of Photography in Athene GR, The Visitor in Galerist, Istanbul TR, REDUCTIVE: an analysis of contemporary minimalism, Columbus, OH USA and her most recent exhibition: Capricious: Young photographers in het Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam. She lives and works in Amsterdam.
